Sunday 2pm kick off on Sky Sports.

Shaw, Pogba & Martial are all out with James a doubt.

West Ham have made a decent start to the season got plenty of attacking talent but are a bit ropey at the back.

Utd might actually be able to play to their strengths a bit a sit and counter attack.

Last season this was the start of the Mourinho implosion really it was this game where I think he lost the team and the fans it was full car crash at that point.

Best guess at a starting XI

DDG

AWB Maguire Lindelöf Young

McTominay Matic

Lingard Mata James

Rashford

Think we might see the senior guys come back in for this one I'd rather see Greenwood start but after 90 minutes on Thursday that might be pushing it same with Fred he hasn't played yet this season so don't see him starting 2 in a row.

Be nice to build a bit of momentum but can see this one being a draw.

Gonna be tough with those injuries. I think Greenwood will start if James isn’t fit. I know he is young and all that but that goal will give him supreme confidence and he could be the spark we need in games like this.

I think when our better players like Pogba and Martial are out it does show up our lack of genuine quality depth.

Rumours are Greenwood hasn’t travelled with the squad.

Of the youngsters it’s Tuenzebe, Chong and Gomes with the squad.

I get that bob if we had martial fit and lukaku still there but as it is it's our only other striker. Surely a place on the bench shouldn't be too much

I think it’s sensible the kid did 90 minutes on Thursday he’s hopefully getting another 90 minutes on Wednesday so sensible to give him a break. My guess is he starts at CF vs Rochdale can’t do to much to soon with these kids

James has travelled so that’s James, Mata, Periera, Lingard, Gomes, Chong as options for the 3 behind Rashford if Rashford gets injured we will have to improvise.

Going to be a tough game if West Ham are on their game going forward I think we will struggle and with our lack of goals it’s going to be tough to get a win here.

Sorry I can't agree with that. I am not talking about starting him and all being well they may not have to use him. For ne if we don't have another striker then he has to go on the bench. For a club like united to have to just improvise because we have one injured striker is pretty poor anyway. He has just come from scoring his first competitive goal which was also a winner so I can't see him wanting to be rested. In truth I would rather rest him against rochdale. It makes it sound like we are giving up on the league already.

If we don’t play him vs Rochdale do we play Rashford? A guy who’s played every minute of every game this season.

The lad is 17 and he looked shattered towards the end of the Astana game these guys see him train every day if they think he needs a rest then give him a rest.

I agree it’s a shambles that we are so short up top but that’s the clubs fault for not buying a replacement for Lukaku and Sanchez and not buying a right winger for a decade. Last guy we signed who was a specialist right winger was Valencia in 09 it’s shocking from the club.

Agree with that. I am blaming the club for the lack of forward players. I don't want to flog him to death either, and if he doesn't have to play then we dont bring him on. Just find it hard to believe thatche can't manage 20 minutes if they need a goal.

Guess it depends what the physios are saying if they think he’s in the so called red zone (high risk of injury) after that game then why risk him.

I’m guessing that’s he’s doing quite a lot of intense gym work to build him up physically and get him ready for men’s football so it might be that they feel that’s better for him than going with the first team where he might not play.

I’d look at it the other way big chance for Gomes and Chong.

Greenwood ill apparently. I didn’t think he would be left out of this one with our shortness of attacking options.

1-0. Utterly utterly dreadful. We look so leggy and uninterested.

Fred and Gomes should come on at HT but we’ll probably see Lingard first, hope I’m wrong though!

It's shocking. I wish I knee what ole was really thinking. He always says the players are fantastic but he surely can't believe that. We have made good signings but still managed to weaken the midfield and forward line.

Guess with Greenwood ill we had little option.

Might as well throw Gomes and Chong on, it really couldn’t get any worse.

So we put these attacking youngsters on the bench and then don't use them? What a load of rubbish. What's the point.

I missed the game. So what happened?

Not a lot West Ham scored 2 good goals we missed 2 sitters.

Yarmelenko scored a half chance, Creswell scored a great free kick but Mata and Maguire both missed very good chances.

First half was dreadful a total stink fest slow ball movement, stuck in our half sadly a very typical performance second half we improved but still carried very little threat.

Matic and Periera very poor and Rashford now injured running himself chasing lost causes.

Dark days on the horizon I’m afraid we are weak and the opposition know they have nothing to fear this team looks very mid table.

The only hope is Pogba and Martial come back and make a huge difference.

What concerns me most, is the players are not even doing the basics - there was no pressing, urgency, tempo for a side that had a week's rest. I'm still unconvinced by Fred but he must start in place of Matic. If the club want Mata around then put him on the backroom staff, he along with Matic are not good enough to be in the matchday squad. We are woefully short of any quality in midfield and up front. Can somebody please tell
Rashford he is not a no 9? He does not have the instinct of a striker and will never get you 20-25 goals a season.
