Gee imagine how much it would cost to pry Rose out of Levy's hands? Also Rose hasn't done himself any favours by his comments lately but don't think he'll be leaving Spurs to be honest. Although you do never know.

Who else is available? I'm guessing not many of the highest calibre. Think it's probably Rose or no-one.

Said in another thread offer Spurs a straight swap Shaw for Rose, I doubt they'd take it but could be worth a try.

If Rose has burned his bridges at Spurs it could be win win for everyone.

I'd rather keep Shaw and get a LB in. Darmian is a solid option but he's far from ideal, Blind and Rojo too, both average LB options. Need pace and better crossing in wide areas with the attackers all cutting in. Surprised this has only just become something Mourinho wants, a lot of faith being placed in Shaw, if it doesn't work out though, we're left with averageness and with our attacking wide left players all cutting in on their right foot we need that left footed, overlapping full back like we have with Valencia on the right.

Yeah I'm kind of on the keep Shaw and bring another guy in bandwagon. I still hope Shaw is gonna succeed here because he has so much potential, it's sad to see that it's not being reached yet but sure Jose is keeping the faith with him for now.

What about Tierney at Celtic? He's getting some rave reviews and the few times I've seen him he has impressed. I think he would do well for us but it's whether Jose would rather bring someone in like Rose who has done it in the EPL.

I think the issue is Shaw has potential to be world class but the back ups aren't really left backs they're guys filling in. The first choice is massively injury prone and unreliable so most of the season we play with a weak LB.

If we sign a RB and LB in theory we could sell Blind & Darmian as Mourinho likes his specialists.

I think Shaw has 12 months to prove himself otherwise he's out maybe did just enough last year to get a 2nd chance but he's on thin ice.

Why are we targeting a LB as a priority? Ok appreciate that Jose isn't sold on Shaw but the priority needs to be a winger! Someone with a bit of damn pace! And that's what I thought Jose was after?

That said... I'd absolutely take Rose here. He's a really really good player. One of the best LBs around.

I think if we had a left back who could get forward it would help the likes of Martial/Rashford who play from the left as the extra body will make defenses think more. Of the current ones the only one who does that is Shaw.

It does feel like a square peg in a round hole whenever we play Darmian/Blind and it isn't really ideal.
