[QUOTE="jsp, post: 177408, member: 1351"] Yeah we don't have a world class back up to Kane but what country does? We should count ourselves lucky that we have 1 world class number 9 and like you say behind that we have Rashford who's getting better every year in that role and also Wilson who I think is a good striker who fits this system. Be interested to see how Solanke develops now he's got himself a move to Bournemouth can he realise some of that potential. There are guys not making the squad putting serious pressure on the guys who are in which we never really had before and while Southgate is showing some loyalty to guys who did well for him at the world cup I don't think that will last forever. I think the real test will be finding a midfield or two who can control the game vs the better sides we will never be able to do what Spain do and dominate games with 70% possession against everyone but we need to be able to have periods in games vs better sides where we are in control. I felt that was where we really lost it in the summer vs Croatia and to an extent Columbia the longer those games went on the less control we had in midfield and it felt like we were always under pressure. It's really hard not to be impressed by Foden it's a bit of a shame that we don't see more of him because he's at City but he looks a really really good prospect maybe he'll break through next season but it's tough because that City midfield is arguably the best midfield in Europe right now. I think Maddison has a chance as well hopefully his second season at Leicester will be as impressive as his first and with Chelsea banned from signing players will some of their talented loan kids get more chances next season? It's hard not to be excited this group play some really nice football and they seem to be a decent group as well (the tabloids will break that image eventually) and to be honest it's hard to see how we aren't amongst the favourites for Euro 2020. Obviously France will be the side to beat they have a crazy embarrassment of riches to choose from but the rest of the traditional big names are in transition at the moment and England along with probably Netherlands are the ones who seem to have come out the other end of that.
