Marco Silva: Everton might appoint Portuguese as manager this week

6 months later than originally planned sounds like Everton might finally get there man.

They've got a big job this summer sorting that squad out the recuitment guy Steve Walsh is gone as well and a new guy has come in so they're going to need to unpick the problem they got themselves into last summer.

Sounds like Rooney is heading to MLS you would assume Klaasen will be off as well if they can find anyone to take him (probably a loan).

You would assume they'll be looking for an experienced CB to go alongside Keane and some better options in wide areas not just attacking but also wide positions as they never seem to have cover for Coleman & Baines who are vital players for them.

I kind of feel like this is one of those Martinez style appointments... Plays good football and for a year or so might get good results but ultimately his team will be found out and then the struggles start.

The Silva problem is say he has a good season with Evrton and Chelsea decide they need a new manager will his head get turned again it's clear this guy wants to get to the very top but he can't keep trying to jump mid season if he'd just told Everton no and that they'd need to wait until the end of the season he probably would've done alright with Watford instead he tried to get out and all that early momentum collapsed.

I think he needs to stick with Everton for a year or two and really try and push them into the top 6 they've got money now but they need to spend it well and just look at Spurs if you can get it right for a few years in a row and keep a core of players together you can force your way into that top 6. It's not easy but it can be done.

He’s just subbed Schniderin off in the 43rd minute with no sign of injury. Was 2-0 they grabbed one back before so a good change of tactics but damning for Schniderlin

He was having a stinker and maybe felt he needed a kick up the backside as he has a lot of games like that.

Still strange to see I just assumed he was playing with an injury/illness.

He's certainly looking close to the bullet.

Surely the owner needs to be calling him in and asking him what he plans to do about the set pieces because they're a major problem and it's a trend from his previous clubs as well in England he clearly can't coach the teams to defend set plays.
