He was being talked up as a £70m player before Van Diyk moved he’s going to be very pricey but everyone seems to rave about him.

Heard a lot about Koulibaly but not really seen a lot of him, just the odd CL and EL game - he’s obviously highly rated but has anyone seen much of him? Apparently would cost an absolute packet too!

Think this could happen, weve been linked with him for a long time and through multiple sources.

Going to be expensive but CB's coming into United from anywhere else are going to be madly priced, he would be my first choice over any other CB so would be very happy if we can get this deal sorted.

A lot of people who know a lot more than I do rate his guy incredibly highly mainly journalists who specialise in Italian football say he’s probably the best in Italy currently.

Will be very expensive but from what I’ve seen ticks all the boxes physically the full package, technically great, positionally good and demonstrates leadership qualities we are lacking defensively right now.

I like this. Really good defender which is what we need and a much better option than Maguire.

Maguire is back again in the press :-/

Think this is something we've got to get used to it's a quiet period stories need to be written.

If you could sell Jones for £20m and get Maguire for £30m I'd say no brainer like for like players in terms of style and ability but Maguire is much more consistent because he's not got fitness problems but talk of £70-80m is bonkers because by that logic Jones is worth over £50m.

Would be delighted if either of those two deals were to happen, Jones will never be worth £50m so long as there is a hole in my arse :D:D

That is the problem though we're buying at premium prices and selling and rock bottom prices because when it comes to football transfers there is no logic. Maguire is worth a lot more to Leicester than Jones is to Utd.

For me if we're buying a centre back he has to be better than every centre back at the club right now there's no point upgrading the 3rd of 4th best upgrade the number 1 that has to be the policy.

Lindelöf is probably the number 1 guy at the club right now I don't think Maguire is clearly better than him he is not a stand out player in an average team like Van Dijk was which is why the premium was paid.

Hmm is he though? Surely he wants more?

Why?

Champions league football again next season at Napoli, working with a great manager, living in a beautiful part of the world, passionate fans that love him, got a good contract.

Let’s give all that up to join the exploding clown car that is Utd.

Fair point but it won't just be us interested in him. And for the time being our name still has that pull.

I don’t think our name has any pull anymore our very generous salary offers is what draws players in.

Footballers can’t look to history they have o look at the now and the future and right now Utd are a europa league team and the future doesn’t suggest things will change.

The price they want for him I don’t think there’s a huge market for him

Looks like he will end up at City this summer.

Napoli seem to want to cash in on him doesn’t look like we are in for him sounds like the sort of player City need right now alongside Laporte.

Sounds like City/Napoli have a frosty relationship after City felt they got screwed over the Jorginho deal.

That's a huge drop from a couple of years ago. If the true fee they'd sell for is anywhere near that then I think that's the move United should make.

Age plus expiring contract makes your value drop very quickly but I do think Napoli a few seasons back were pricing him out of moves because they didn't want to sell him which is why he never actually moved clubs.
