He's not that stupid he knows how it works. Normally what Woodward says on these investor calls is trying to polish a turd saying a bad season on the pitch doesn't really hurt us off it is true but a sustained period of on field failure will make a difference. He actually used Liverpool as an example to justify this they've been without a title in 29 years yet they still got high value sponsorship deals because the name is so established.

I don't know the state of Liverpool's books currently but it would seem the current owners have moped up the mess the previous owners left them in and put in a structure designed to get the best out of every penny they can earn. The difference here is the owners of Liverpool are American owners who own a successful sports franchise in the Boston Red Sox a franchise that expect to challenge and win whereas the Glazers own a sports team that they milk every possible penny from by spending as little as possible and not even trying to compete.

Not going to lie. Our struggles are a joke but... Seeing Liverpool fans cry after Brighton gave them hope is definitely making up for it.

That fake goal celebration was so freaky because about a minute later Brighton did score.

Don't really care what people say what that team did last season was crazy they were brilliant lost 1 game all season got 97 points and still didn't win it which is just crazy.

If they keep that team together and add a few better squad players around it they'll be right in the mix next season not saying they'll be able to break 90 points again but they look like they'll be the closest to City.
