De Gea's 250 games - the key statistics - Official Manchester United Website

David De Gea marked his 250th appearance for Manchester United with a clean sheet in Monday's 2-0 Premier League win at West Ham United.

The 26-year-old made a telling contribution to the Reds' sixth successive league victory, denying Michail Antonio on the hour mark when the Hammers winger was put clean through on goal, with Juan Mata breaking the deadlock only three minutes later.

Our no.1 has progressed to become one of the finest goalkeepers in world football since making his United debut in August 2011; read on for a look at the Spaniard's 250 games in numbers...

7 - De Gea is only the seventh goalkeeper to reach this milestone for United, after Alex Stepney (539), Peter Schmeichel (398), Gary Bailey (375), Alfred Steward (326), Harry Moger and Edwin van der Sar (both 266).

142 - The number of games United have won with De Gea in goal, giving him a win percentage of 56.8.

0 - The former Atletico Madrid man has never made a substitute outing for United - all of his 250 appearances so far have been starts. He has completed all but one of those matches; he was forced off through injury in the 74th minute against Arsenal in May 2014.

22,484 - Following on from the above, this is the number of minutes David has played for United so far (not including injury time).

88 - The Madrid-born stopper's clean sheet at the London Stadium was his 88th in his first 250 Reds outings, giving him a clean sheets per games ratio of 0.352. His first shut-out came in a 3-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur on 22 August 2011.

2 - David has only been booked twice for his current club, against Aston Villa in December 2013 and Everton last month.

125 - Exactly half of the no.1's appearances have been at Old Trafford. Stamford Bridge and Anfield (both 7) are the away grounds where he has played most often.

185 - The number of Premier League appearances De Gea has made. The remainder of his 250 games cover the Champions League (27), FA Cup (17), Europa League (9), League Cup (9) and Community Shield (3).

52 - The most appearances De Gea has made in a single season for United, in 2013/14.

1 - Our classy keeper's one and only assist so far came in a Champions League home tie against Bayer Leverkusen in September 2013, when his long punt upfield set up Wayne Rooney to score in a 4-2 win.

56 - The number of different teams David has faced with United, from his debut opponents Manchester City in 2011 to Middlesbrough on New Year's Eve.

3 - The fans' favourite is the reigning Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year. He was the first goalkeeper to win the award in 2014 and is the only Red to have scooped it in three consecutive seasons.

For me this is his best stat:

142 - The number of games United have won with De Gea in goal, giving him a win percentage of 56.8.

Forget the clean sheets and all the rest. The fact that with him in goal we have over a win 56.8% is testament to what a keeper he is! Because he's spent what half of his United career under Moyes and LVG and then a bumpy start under Jose. And he's played behind some either bad or injury hit defenses so keeping clean sheets is always going to be tough. And yet in so many games even when he's not kept a clean sheet he's been absolutely crucial.
