Very positive from Carrick.Definitely looks a different player from last season, seems to have found new challenges in his United career after not starting the last 5 games of the season. When he's on form, he's one of the best passers in England along with Scholes.

I think if Carrick steps up (again) this season, he could be instrumental in Uniteds success. I always defend him when people jump on his form. He is a fabulous player and when on form and, more importantly, confident, he is one of the most complete central midfielders in the country. With Scholes in his twilight years and Hargo's breadstick legs, Carrick has potentially got a huge role to fulfill in the centre along with The Football Genius.

I reckon he's up to it and would love to see him get player of the year.

He needs to step up a gear and stay there this season. He's great when we're 2-0 up at home but when we're 1-0 at Anfield or Chelsea and under the cosh, he seems to disappear

Hope he plays for England next week, he's a much better passer than Barry and Lampard.
