I thought his passing was atrocious at times.

Yeah lots of sloppy passes he grafts and we can all appreciate that but he’s constantly out of position and he gives the ball away cheaply a lot and commits a lot of fouls luckily the ref wasn’t to card happy today.

Team target him as well

Absolute pony. All over the shop every week and passing was a joke today.

We can't allow him to be playing 50 games a season next season, it's fine him being the cover but he can't be a starter next season and Dalot isn't playing enough this season to make you think he's ready to take over.

To me it's a position where a signing needs to be made in the summer unless Dalot manages to get in the team and show he's ready during the next few months.

Premier League: Manchester United 3-2 Southampton - 2nd March 2019

He had another poor game.

His aimless passing into the channel annoys me so much.

Premier League: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Manchester United - 2nd April 2019

He was awful.

Awful is being supremely kind. I would take Darmian over him at this point. And he’s our captain, let that one sink in.

I really don't get why he was put into the back 3.

He played them onside for the first goal but that was a chaotic moment so defence was always going to be a bit out of shape but getting himself sent off was stupid. He's 34 he should know that tackle will always get a yellow it was a rush of blood moment trying to recover a bad pass from McTominay.

Honestly at this point we have to give Dalot a run of games to see if he's ready for next season.

Champions League: Manchester United 0-1 Barcelona - 10th April 2019

If last night doesn't beg the question then I honestly dont know what does ! 11 failed attempted crosses, his corners were bobbins, lost possession 32 times apparently, and above all he was awful, just awful.

The summer cannot come quick enough, new RB, new CB, Right sided attacker and a CM.

I don't think it's contract related but he's dropped off a lot recently (since he got that 1 year deal) but he's being asked to play 3 games a week a lot more than someone his age should be and I think it is showing. I know he didn't feature on internationals but teams really are starting to target him as a weak link.

We can't go into next season with him as our first choice right back he needs to be the backup full back either to Dalot if they think he's ready or to a new signing.

Last night was particularly poor from him you can normally expect better delivery when he does get forward.

As always the issue is players like Dalot and even Darmian who are both specialist right backs have not convinced enough to take that shirt off Young who's in the team on merit but it needs sorting out. We've run out of old wingers to convert to right back unless Sanchez fancies a crack at it we need to bite the bullet and buy someone.

Brilliant ! Sanchez at right back LOL - then again, he cant be much worse than what he has done already and hey ho, I would play him over Young after last night.

Since Gary Neville got injured/retired 10-12 years ago we've had the following people play regularly as right backs

Brown
O'Shea
Jones
Smalling
Rafael
Fabio
Valencia
Young
Darmian
Dalot

That's 2 converted wingers, 4 centre backs, 2 youth team products, 1 budget right back, 1 development signing

Right back has been a position of massive under investment for last 10 years we thought we'd found the answer in Rafael but he lost his way post Fergie.

Pretty sure Lingard's debut was playing as a right wing back under LVG as well.

The whole transfer policy has been dog mess, not just RB.

Everybody lost there way post fergie. Selling Rafael was a terrible decision

To be fair his fitness problems returned and his performances dropped off massively I liked Rafael but I wasn't heart broken when he left and he hasn't exactly set the world alight at Lyon. He had plenty of chances at Utd and only really had one decent season either side of that he was a liability a lot of the time.

I suspect we were watching him differently. It's all about opinions. He had everything I wanted in a fullback. Yes at times he was a little rash, he was still young.

With Rafael he’d be our best right back if he was still around so selling him without a better replacement was silly.

At his best I was a huge fan but I felt he let himself down with his performances in the seasons after Fergie went along with a lot of other players and like a lot of them I wasn't bothered to see them move on.

He was 24 when he left with 150 appearances under his belt.

The fact he was replaced by an absolute dud in Darmian is annoying but had we signed a better player I don't think people would miss Rafael.

I think Rafael will always be missed just for his enthusiasm alone. I can't disagree if you sell a good rb and replace him with a great rb he wouldn't be remembered as fondly. In truth you could say that about almost any leaving player.

That's been the issue really that Fergie squad needed to be changed some of it due to age catching up but some just to freshen the place up no man was ever going to be able to get that team to tick like the old man did because they were loyal to him. I think they did some of it to quickly under LVG but it did need to happen the real balls up was they sold everything cheap.

I mean take that last side that won the league under Fergie this was pretty much our first choice starting XI that season

DDG

Rafael Vidic Rio Evra

Valencia Carrick Cleverley Park

Rooney RVP

I mean I'd say we've replaced 2 players in that team with better starting XI players Pogba & Martial over Cleverley & Park but the rest has been a complete failure. The other 8 outfield positions we haven't replaced those players with anywhere near the quality of what we had in that season you could make an argument for Shaw but he's not really convinced me he's close to Evra.

He was shockingly bad. He lost possession on 32 occasions and all 11 of his crosses failed to meet their target.

Enough is enough.

One of several positions we need genuine quality. Don't blame Ashley, he has made the most of his talent but as Bob says enough is enough

He was never good enough for us he joined a team fighting it out for league and champions leagues on a regular basis he was a very average winger who struggled for minutes when we were at the top.

He’s done well filling in and he’s clearly got a cracking attitude but I’ve never felt he had anything like the ability to be a Man Utd player.

Pretty sure in Jose’s first season he was up for sale in January and the only offer Utd got was West Brom on loan.

I think he should be here next season but he needs to be a 25 game player not a 50 game player his role next season has to be backup left/right back.

Worth keeping just because of the amount of positions he can play but never a starter unless we are desperate or resting players
