Ashley Fletcher - Official Manchester United Website

The Yorkshire-born striker may look like an angular target man but he has a neat touch and is clearly learning the tools of the trade at Carrington.

After rising through the ranks, his goalscoring prowess at Under-16 level ensured the step up to the Under-18 squad was ensured and he is continuing to progress under Paul McGuinness and his coaching staff.

Capable of leading the line and ruffling defenders' feathers, he will look to force himself into McGuinness' plans on a regular basis after only making one substitute appearance for the Under-18s in 2012/2013.

With Sam Byrne and Jack Barmby now ineligible, he could find himself partnering James Wilson in attack but there will be competition from younger charges Ruairi Croskery and Devonte Redmond.

Certainly, his goalscoring record in pre-season appeared to bode well for the 2013/2014 term.

The person sat in front of me was texting Fletcher's dad during the game. His dad said they are waiting on pro forms from United.
