I don't think we can judge him based on a 15 minute cameo. But yeah have not seen him do anything breath taking on the field so far.

I can't remember the last time I cheered so much. Delighted for him.

Absolutely brilliant goal. Was like a breath of fresh air. Hope he continues in the same vein.

Don't think Martin Tyler has reacted to a United goal like that since the Macheda goal.

Absolutely rinsed Skrtel who is probably still trying to figure out where he went. Great composure and finish at 19 years old, seen many hit them high and wide.

Huge goal for him. Had he went a few games without scoring the media would have put a lot of pressure on him.. They will still be out for him though, just waiting to see a stat of how much each of his goals are worth by the end of the season or some sort of bullshit like that. Probably a good thing he doesn't speak English.

Anyway, great start. Looks very confident and it's great having someone running direct at defenders.

I like what I've seen so far. He's strong, links play and appears to be capable of showing a bit of imagination.

He looks decent. Thb he loses the ball quite a lot. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. He brings a bit of flair to our game.

Very impressed last night. Has all the tools to be a top class forward.

Already our best striker. We have missed someone with the fear factor since van Persie's first season.

What a waste of money.

Didn't see much of the game but so cool for his first. Great turn. Sounds like Southampton defence was frightened everytime he got the ball. That's what pace does, he has the ability to go with it too though.

Already seems a bargain doesn't he. Hope he continues his good run. Need someone like him upfront if we are to mount a serious challenge.

The boy is class! Has everything we've needed upfront. Unplayable at the moment. Defenders don't know what to do when he's around or has the ball because of his pace.

Quite scary to think he's only 19, plays like a man at his peak, think yesterday was his most impressive performance so far despite not scoring, showed how much of a team player he was, making a big difference having him as the focal point of the side.

He's already a key man. The difference it makes having someone with pace up top.

What GNev said last night is exactly what I was thinking on Saturday watching. Was so impressed by his all round game as a striker. Link up play, worked hard for those around him, brought others into the game, held the ball up very well. Set one up for Rooney, who could be the biggest beneficiary of Martial being in the side, as his pace and movement will create space for him. Would have had a second assist if Memphis was more clinical in his finish. For a striker to not score and be man of the match says it all in my opinion.
