San Jose Earthquakes - 22/7/2015

Looked good today too. Good to get his first goal for the club. Will give him a lot of confidence going forward. A good preseason can be a good launchpad for the coming season.

Didn't see the game. Was pleasantly surprised by his goal. Excellent header! Tougher games to come but he's done himself no harm in these first 2 games.

Pretty much the only positive from tonight.

Surely the time has come for LVG to either give him more chances or loan him out to a Premier league team who will? He needs to play regular games as a higher level than the under 21s. I thought this season would be the one we see more of him but that's not been the case so far... Despite our attack being pretty poor overall.

Really impressive. He has brushed up a lot of his game, in the last few seasons a lot of those incisive passes wouldn't have come off or the wrong decision would have been made but he's much more assured now. Talent was always there was just a case of getting it all together.

Said he wouldn't get enough game time back in the summer, he's played less than I thought though. Has improved this season despite his lack of game time though, really is time he got more games now though either with us or out on loan.

Thought he looked decent at times whilst maybe being guilty of holding on to the ball at others.

It was tough for him because he came on and not long after we were down to 10 men and no recognised striker.

He used his body well to shield the ball but other times perhaps tried to do too much. Against a league one team you know they will be physical if nothing else so that was going to be tough for him.

Overall maybe a 6/7 out of 10?! 7 if we are being really generous that is.

Think that kind of shows his inconsistency. Good in flashes, shows potential but from time to time misplaces a pass or tries to do too much.

Not a criticism so much... That's how most youngsters are. There's no doubt he's got the ability to be a quality player. And what I did like was against a physical team he wasn't afraid to battle and use his body to protect the ball.

Manchester United 5-1 FC Midtjylland - 25th February 2016

He had a nice little cameo last night too. Not much to talk about but his shot which went narrowly wide. He needs to go out on loan next season to get minutes under his belt if he isn't going to be a regular starter. There is only so much he can learn in the academy level.

I was about to ask if he was injured... He suddenly seems to be out of favour with the first team squad? Unless I've just not been paying much attention to the bench? But I thought at one point a few weeks ago he was starting to get more chances.
