Horrendous leg break for Gomes. Son sent off but was Aurier’s fault.

Yeah fair to say ankles shouldn’t point in that direction.

Just a terrible accident Son caused it with his tackle he tripped him but obviously didn’t intend to break the guys leg but it was clear the ref saw the result and changed it from a yellow to red as he had the yellow card out.

Why didn’t VAR get involved?

Even if he’d stayed on I think Spurs would have to have subbed Son off as he was distraught Aurier was seen praying on the pitch while Gomes got treatment and Aurier was subbed shortly after.

Also blatant penalty for Everton missed by VAR

Was 3 penalties missed by VAR today

Mina on Son
Alli handball
Sanchez on Richarlison

All 3 were pens and why didn’t they review the Son red card.

Just another example of why football doesn’t need VAR it simply doesn’t work.

Can Spurs still appeal the red card now that we have VAR?

Having seen the proper images apparently Son broke the ankle with a cynical foul and Aurier clatters in to an already broken ankle.

Gomes ankle is hanging before he gets hit from Aurier. Hopefully he can have a full recovery.
