Be interesting to see how he does will be big pressure on him to be the main man and replace Costa but that is what he wants.
Finally gets to play under Conte.
Market is crazy right now a guy who's Madrid backup who has an ok but not great goal scoring record is reported to be £70m.
It is crazy. A 75 million initial fee gets you a guy who's scored in the prem in Lukaku. But 70 million for a guy who's not played over here or a lot at all last season is madness. It's why Rom's decision must have been a really kick in the teeth for Conte.
Well we are now getting stories that Morata was Conte number 1 pick in the first place it was the club who wanted Lukaku blah blah blah.
2 strikers with big price tags coming into the prem this season in Morata & Lacazette both seem to have a bit of point to prove be interesting to see who does the best out of them.
Premier League: Chelsea 2-3 Burnley - 12th August 2017
Premier League: Chelsea 2-0 Everton - 27th August 2017
World Cup Qualifier: Spain 3-0 Italy - 2nd September 2017
Premier League: Leicester City v Chelsea - 9th September 2017
Premier League: Stoke City v Chelsea - 23rd September 2017
If Lukaku would have missed those chance that Morata did last night the bloke would have been pulled apart by pundits and fans alike. All 3 were terrible terrible misses.
Yeah he had a real stinker last night but Lacazette also missed some good chances.
Seems like after a great start all the big summer striker signings have gone a bit cold in recent months, defences working them out?
Maybe, but the first and last chance he had he was on his own 1 on 1 and fluffed his lines big time.
Confidence seems to have deserted all the summer big money forward which is weird. Just know if that was Lukaku last night everyone would be throwing in a jibe at him so much more, who knows what Paul Scholes would have said lol.
I dunno I think Morata is getting plenty of stick the difference is he fluffed his chance in a game where there’s so much more to talk about and I think Sky didn’t have an hour of pundit talk after plus MOTD that night.
That said being the Utd number 9 attracts more attention than any other apart from maybe Madrid if you don’t score it’s not just local news it’s a worldwide topic as the knives are being sharpened on Benzema as well now.
