He's been touted for a while now as being a talent on the level of Greenwood & Gomes. He seems to have played a year or two up all the way through, in spite of his slight frame. Gomes scored a hat trick for the under 18's aged 15 so the bar has been set for him!
I feel sorry for Fred in that the 'system' we currently play does nothing for midfielders, there is next to no movement and fullbacks are generally held back.. He made some basic errors last night but most of the mistakes came about from trying to force things due to lack of options. I still...
It is the worst season in that it has now gotten to the point of acceptance for me. I tune in to United expecting the crap that is about to unfold. The only saving grace this season is watching the under 19's & 18's. They are a breath of fresh air to watch.
I appreciate the thread is 7 pages long and the general consensus is that Mourinho needs to go, however I am still seeing many fans elsewhere express a belief that it is the players that are letting Jose down - and not vice-versa.
Anyone with that view only needs to look at what Bielsa is doing...
Big game given the other sides in the group. Swiss sides are generally good at home & well organised. Need the likes of Sanchez and Pogba to step up because they might be difficult to break down.
United's squad has been named for the Youth League: og-title-youthleague-team
They kick off on Wednesday against Young Boys at 3pm. As with previous seasons, the group games run in conjunction with the senior team.
We have a strong side this season, my personal lineup would be: Kovar; Laird...
It would have two years ago. Also, it would have been £10 million pounds off what Liverpool paid. I'm sure one of our tractor sponsors brings in around that a year!
United are, always have been, and always will be, a bigger club than Spurs. I would like to think there is still huge prestige in playing for United. Also... £££££
Yeah - Pep signed them. Mourinho could have done so. Both are streets ahead of the two he signed. Also, as I already said, if an experienced centre back was lacking, why didn't Mourinho sign one? He has had a huge pot of cash to spend since he arrived (5 transfer windows ago).
I would agree to a certain extent - however we would end up getting beaten in two or three games where this discussion would re-emerge. Papering over cracks. Jose has to take accountability for the poor defensive signings HE has made. But yes, I would like to think we will sign Alderweireld...
Are you serious? You do realise you are defending the guy who brought the two of them in? It was his pot of cash to spend - if he felt an experienced centre back was what was needed, he could have got quite a good one for the combined Bailly and Lindelof fees.
We must have watched a different match. The defense was clearly a shambles, as was Lukaku, but Pogba was still rubbish. He makes so many bad decisions. This craic of holding the ball up and leaning back into players at the side of the pitch, what is the point to it? I know Pogba can be an easy...
I think he probably could, but if it came at the cost of watching poisonous football then I'm not sure it's worth it. I do see the counter argument about him not being backed in the window but he has made enough signings at this stage that the outcome of this season shouldn't be caveated with...
