Everyone Laughing At Us Now? – Team Of The Year

Congratulations to Patrice Evra, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia and Wayne Rooney for being selected in the Premier League team of the year.

Evra has performed like a robot for Manchester United this season – he has been constantly excellent. United would have been lost without his contribution, when considering the injury crisis the team has suffered. He was also appointed captain, illustrating how highly rated he is by Sir Alex Ferguson. Far are the memories of his nightmare debut – top player and seemingly top man. Evra loves United!

Darren Fletcher in the Premier League team of the year? An opposition fan would have laughed in your face for even the thought of Fletcher being included in the team of the year. Not now though! Fletcher offers energy and a nonstop engine. In his absence the difference in overall team performance is noticeable.

Antonio Valencia has had a superb first season at United, his pace and direct running have been a real threat. How the media and opposition fans laughed when his signing was announced. Valencia had the added pressure of replacing Ronaldo, although I never saw Valencia as a direct replacement for Ronaldo. Valencia is more of your traditional winger where as Ronaldo likes to drift all over the pitch. Hopefully Valencia will continue to develop and improve in his second season.

Before the season started all the so called experts and pundits were excited by the thoughts of us struggling to score goals. Please step forward Wayne “Wazza” Rooney.  Rooney has scored 34 goals in 42 appearances. Also, last season in the Premier League we scored 80 goals compared to 81 this season with two games remaining. So where are the goals going to come from? Wayne Rooney is the answer! He fully deserves the PFA award.

Here is the full team: Joe Hart (Birmingham); Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea), Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal), Richard Dunne (Aston Villa), Patrice Evra (United); Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), James Milner (Aston Villa), Darren Fletcher (United), Antonio Valencia (United); Wayne Rooney (United), Didier Drogba (Chelsea)

  1. Jason Freeman on

I laughed more in the face of Shitty. Hart and Dunne in there. Look at what you could of had.

Tight call between Valencia and Malouda I reckon. Ivanovic’s inclusion just makes the Right back position in the Premier League laughable. Has he really been the best right back this year surely there are others? No.

I end by saying what a shame it is that Rooney didn’t stay fit although we can win without him as we showed on Saturday, with him fit and in the team against Chelsea and Blackburn we would have picked up at least 4 if not 6 points meaning we would have won it by now and might even still be in the CL. He wasn’t right in the 2nd leg, we would have scored at least one more had he been fit. Anyway, congrats Rooney on being the PFA Player of the Year (someone tell me how he can be nominated for the young player of the year and end up not winning it, the nominations for that award were a joke, 24 is not young!)

  2. evra is the best left back in th world he is my favourite player he is only going to get better an better i am a bit worried i think he only has two years left in his contract so i hope fergie give him a five year contract

  5. ya i think agureo would be perfect. i think ferge told a news paper his forward line he would love rooney villa and agureo so you nevere know one of thenm might conme

  6. dont real now much about gourcuff does he play his football in france i rather agureo. i herd today man united fans have only be gven 1000 tickets for the sunderland ganme i hope that wont efect the players less suport as normal awy ganmes we get 3000 tickets. do you think it will effect the players

  7. Don’t think aguero would cut it at Utd.

First of all we allready have a tiny little striker in rooney. What we need is another option.

Secondly he will be one of the most expensive players this summer.

Buy cheap from Real’s lost and found, thats what we should do:)
