Leicester City have completed the loan signings of Michael Keane and Jesse Lingard on one month deals.
With injuries to Sean St Ledger and Jamie Vardy and a suspension for Zak Whitbread, the Foxes have swooped for the two teenage starlets of the Red Devils to provide cover for these absentees.
Keane, a central defender, made his first team début against Aldershot Town in the League Cup last season. A consistent performer and versatile, Keane can also play at full-back. His most recent appearance for the first team was also in that competition, putting in a mature performance against Chelsea recently. Keane is also the current Reserve team player of the year.
Lingard has yet to make an appearance for the first team and is a talented attacking midfielder who can play on either wing but his preferred position is just off the striker. His direct running can really test defenders. He was also on the shortlist for the Reserve team award that Keane won.
Both players were part of the 2011 F.A. Youth Cup winning team. The loan move should aid their development despite the short term nature of the deal.
