In torrential rain a Mexico team featuring Manchester United new boy Javier Hernandez team took on Holland.
Hernandez (and Mexico for that fact) barley featured in a first half. The first half saw a dominate Holland team secure a 2-0 half time lead with a brace of goals from Robin Van Persie. Mexico grew into the match during the second half and looked a greater threat as a consequence. Then the moment we had been waiting for… Javier Hernandez scored!
The aspect which impressed most was the intelligent run Hernandez made off the ball to create space for himself. Holland’s defenders were dragged to the front post, which left Man United’s new signing unmarked and he clinically finish. The ball was headed into the ground which gave little opportunity for Holland’s goalkeeper to save.
Overall impressions
Quiet game for Hernandez but showed his finishing abilities when a chance arrives. In my opinion Hernandez has a natural striker’s instinct in terms of movement and positioning in the penalty area. This bodes well and is another similarity to Michael Owen.

For those who don’t know much about Chicharito, he is indeed a clinical finisher. He has a tendency to creep in when least expected but has an immense work rate too.I’m happy he played and scored against Holland. He is a loyal player who will sacrifice his head for whatever team he plays on to win.
We all know United isn’t an easy team to play for but I hope he proves his worth for United. A good investment IMO.
Yes i have known him since he was a teenager. Chicharito has lots of potential. I don’t doubt his abilities one bit. He is an intelligent player but what i love about him is, he never stops, never gives up and he’s a hell of a tormentor. He plays like a “ghost” you know he is there but you can’t find him and thats when he hurts you most.
His vertical leap his great, he is not that quick but he makes up for that part of his game with amazing position and off the ball runs.
He has a lot in him and I hope Manchester United brings the best out of him.
