Only 2 league matches in and Fabio played in both and the feedback is:

Queens Park Rangers 0-5 Swansea City – 18/08/2012

Fabio was a little lost although throughout the game you could see he is a player of undoubted ability. He was part of a defence that did not appear to have a clue how to defend and therefore he was lost at sea for most of the game. He must have wondered what he had let himself in for by joining Queens Park Rangers.

He was out of position on several occasions, but this was due to him trying to surge forward in attempt to create a goal scoring opportunity; however Swansea were absolutely awesome on the counter attack almost scoring every time they countered.

It was a difficult game for anyone playing for QPR and no one had a great game at all.

My rating: 4 out of 10

Norwich City 1-1 Queens Park Rangers – 25/08/2012

This was a better game to judge Fabio as the defence on the whole was better organised. He was very good going forward and appears to have an excellent cross on him. His frailty thus far is getting back into position following an attack and from what I have seen he appears better going forward than at defending , having said that he made some crucial tackles/interceptions in the second half that without his obvious intervention could have resulted in one or two goals.

Norwich were the dirtiest team I have seen in a long time and their forwards are going to cause a lot of defenders problems this season and not necessarily because of their scoring exploits but more because they know how to get defenders booked and are very good at fooling the referee.

My rating: 6 out of 10

Summary

On the evidence so far I can see Fabio improving and of course we must remember his game time at Manchester United was limited therefore he has confidence issues to overcome in my opinion.

I believe the signings QPR have made this week will add confidence throughout and we may see an improving Fabio in the next 4 weeks. I will keep you up to date on this in a few weeks time.
