Angel Di Maria transfer: PSG ready to offer Man United their money back on unsettled midfielder - Mirror Online

Mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer Manchester United their money back on Angel Di Maria.

The French giants have stepped up their pursuit of Argentina star Di Maria - and have made it clear they will offer big money.

Di Maria, 27, has struggled to settle since his £59.7m record breaking move from Real Madrid last summer.

PSG wanted him last year and are willing to break the bank again to offer Di Maria an escape route from Old Trafford.

Di Maria’s home was raided and his performances have been inconsistent this term which has alerted PSG about renewing their interest.

United feared they would struggle to get their money back - but agents working for the French club are working hard to make the deal happen.

PSG would also almost certainly be able to offer Champions League football while United are still sweating on their place in the top four.

United boss Louis Van Gaal has already admitted he won’t stand in Di Maria’s way if he wants to go and may need cash to rebuild the squad.

PSG : Al-Khelaïfi veut Pogba, Blanc cible aussi Di Maria

A loan with a purchase option for Di Maria?

In addition Pogba folder, Laurent Blanc has also made a wish to its leaders. PSG coach insists recruit Angel Di Maria, having missed out last summer. Reportedly, Paris has resumed discussions with the Manchester United winger and his agent Jorge Mendes. Al-Khelaïfi met the influential Portuguese agent when Barca PSG at Parc des Princes (April 15). The two men discussed a arrives in the capital of Argentina. The player is not very happy in Manchester and PSG was always his preference.

El Fideo could be recruited in the form of a loan with a purchase option to bypass the financial fair play, provided that payroll Champions France does not explode. Paris should open discussions with MU in the coming days and could make it in the coming weeks. Regarding Memphis Depay, the PSV Eindhoven striker was supervised by PSG. Discussions had begun with the agents of Dutch 21, but White was not a fan of his profile. Finally, the arrival of a left side is studied in case of departure of Lucas Digne. For now no names filtered.

We really need to stop buying South Americans. Valencia has been the most successful I think?

Apparently DiMaria is staying.

despite me being very critical for the way he played this seasonI am very happy he is staying. he is World class, & that is not a tag I throw around loosely. Many Argentins rate him higher than Messi [ more to do with Messi not being considered a true argentine by many] & anyone who watched the CL final last season & the way he played in the WC until injured will see that.

As bad as he was, & he really was awful at times, he still was right up there with assists. I think as good as Ashley Young was this season, he will have a real battle on his hands to retain his spot next season

Looks like he is off. Whenever lvg is noncommittal on any players future it seems he is already off. Felt it with van persie and now with DiMaria.

My opinion of Di Maria will go down a lot if he goes. Thought he was a fighter, this would show a lack of bottle. Would also seem the talk that he wanted to go to PSG last summer was probably true.

L’Équipe say there's an agreement between United and PSG for Di Maria.

Doesn't seem to want to make it work and playing wise may be too much of a free spirit to work under van Gaal.

Too soft for the Premier League imo, spent most of the season on his arse when he did play. Started off well, and got loads of assists, but not consistent enough. Clearly never wanted to play for us in the first place, and is now getting his way by going to PSG and playing in an easy league, where it will make him look like a world beater

If reports of his conduct are true, I wouldn't be too bothered about how much we lose on him. Just get him off the wage bill. Shocking and massively disappointing.

We’ve been asked quite a bit over the last couple of weeks whether we had any inside information on the potential incomings and outgoings at Manchester United. When we do get to hear bits of inside information we share them on this site or in our Facebook group, or Twitter account.

Over the last couple of weeks it has been a bit quiet as most of our sources have been in the States, with United, but almost as soon as the party returned we received a very interesting message regarding Angel Di Maria.

As you are all aware by now Di Maria has gone AWOL (though United believe he’s in Argentina waiting for the deal with PSG to be completed) leaving United next to no negotiation room in dealings with Paris Saint Germain. Louis Van Gaal has had to fend off increasingly embarrassing questions about the situation regarding the Argentinian attacker and United are extremely riled by it all.

To paraphrase the message we received earlier on, the fans need to know what has been happening with Angel Di Maria and so here it is,

Di Maria has been angling for a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona. This started before the burglary at his home.
United found out about this from representatives of those clubs.
Di Maria’s behaviour has been disruptive at best and this is not the first time he has gone AWOL whilst at United.
After one game last season he left the ground without permission and did not attend an arranged engagement.
He has refused to play in certain games.
He has done his best to unsettle Marcus Rojo and also encourage him to seek a move away from United.
We were told exclusively that United have bent over backwards to try and accommodate Di Maria and his demands. The club were in no doubt as to his ability and were hoping that he would eventually settle but that his behaviour has been completely unacceptable.

Di Maria was signed to try and accelerate United’s climb back to the top of the table and so some of his behaviour was overlooked as the club did lack genuine world stars. Rojo was assigned to, essentially, babysit Di Maria but that proved problematic as Di Maria was constantly in his ear about them both moving away. Rojo is happy at the club we were told and that this recent Barcelona speculation was simply that and that there is nothing in it.

As a deal between United and PSG edges nearer, for a reported fee of £45 million, United will be increasingly relieved to wash their hands of a player that has been nothing but a headache for the past six months. Once the deal goes through some of the above will be leaked to the papers as United attempt to get their side of the story across and are expecting Di Maria to make some derisory comments about his stay.

After Di Maria’s transfer is completed it is widely expected that United will sign Barcelona forward Pedro. We have no inside information on that move but the people in the know on Twitter and in the press have all widely reported that an agreement is in place between the player, United and Barcelona.

I'm wary to believe exclusives from a new blog. We could write an article for SEA's blog, spout nonsense and claim an exclusive.

Wasn't only talking about that. Expect things to come out from both sides when move goes through.

I am not saying that what is written there is absolute truth. But you can't put it past di Maria considering his poor conduct during this saga. Most likely he just saw us as stop gap club till he could join PSG which was his target all along.
