    Pique return?

Starting to hear whispers Pique could be a target for a return in the summer. Any more info? And do we think we need another young centre back?

Heard this story earlier in the week but nothing since. Pique is not meant to be happy with being left on the bench so say the papers. Is Piqué having contract negation talks? Could be that.

Would be surprised if he left Barca, established players only seem to leave there when their not wanted anymore. Even more surprised if he came back to us. Not really a good fit for the Premier League in my opinion. Perfect for Barca as he's probably the best ball playing centre half in the world but defensively he's pretty suspect when I've seen him. Wouldn't say he's a massive improvement on what we've already got.

I honestly don't see him leaving Barcelona, unless he is looking for a new challenge, as hes won pretty much everything there, But he has supposedly fallen out with Pep.

Doubt he would fit into our team, like speedy says, he can be fairly weak defensively yet hes got great vision and passing which is why he works so well at Barcelona.

No thank you. I dont want Pique returning. His defending isn't good enough for Premier League. He'd struggle to cope with the pace here. It isn't exposed too much in spain because Barca have the ball most of the game and also Messi scores a hattrick every game to cover his ass. I'm very glad to have Evans, Smalling, Jones atm, with Veseli and others possibly to come too.

I think Pique is a very good player but he's not really suited to the premiership like others have said at Barca his team are in possession normally for 70% of the game so he doesn't really have to defend.

In England I'm not sure he'd do as well with the direct style of play.

Seems to be a bit of a story out of nothing I catch bits of Barca games on a regular basis and he always seems to be playing in the ones that matter.

Pique is overrated. His mistakes are often covered by Puyol. If Barca didn't keep the ball so well he'd be further found out.

True but part of the reason they keep the ball so well is his ability to take the ball off the keeper and get it into the midfield even under pressure.

Yeah, I'm not underestimating that, he's a world class footballer, he's not a world class defender though if that makes sense.
