He reminds me a little of Gerrard. Likes to break from midfield and can pick a pass, likes to get stuck in but tackling isn't his strong suit.

Sounds promising. Would it rule Martinez out if it happened ? Would make sense if we tried getting it done now, before the euro's, if true.

Depends how much the glazers would give us i suppose looking about £45m to sign them both probably. Strootman doesnt really remind me of anybody in particular. Box to box midfielder with a wand of a left foot and has a great passing range reads the game well too, would fit in well. Cant see us signing two midfielders though.

Highly respected Dutch journalist Hugo Borst has been rumoured to have said that he'll join us for £11m.

I don't know if the rumour has been created by someone on the wind-up. Borst's Wikipedia claims he gave up writing and television in 2011 due to mental exhaustion.

Be interesting to see what happens.

You guys might think i'm crazy - I saw a few PSV matches last year Strootman looked good, but not great. He has good physique, decent vision, ok at tackling, decent passing range and his work rate and pin point passing is poor. I think Anderson is better, too bad he is always injured, but one player who is better than Strootman and is under rated is Joe Allen of Swansea. He was the main cog in Swansea's campaign and he is lot better than Strootman from what I've seen of both players.

Would be nice he's a proper box-to-box midfielder which we've not had for a long time. Been a lot of stories about us over the last couple of days, hopefully there's merit in a few of them.

I've not seen Strootman, but on what i've heard, he's the sort of player I like and think we could do with.

I've seen a load today, it's like we've signed about 5 players today. I've seen Strootman, Modric, Powell, Lewandowski and Thiago today.

I'd expect he'll be playing for the Dutch tomorrow. I've been impressed when I've seen him, still got room to improve though.

Not necessarily. The Dutch have plenty of options in that area and could go for experience with De Jong and Van Bommel so I don't think we can base our judgements or say he's not good enough for us if he doesn't start.

I think Rene Meulensteen said the comparisons were "nonsense" back in April. Also denied interest in him but around the same time said there was interest in Hazard.
