According to reports United have joined the race to sign Belgium international winger Eden Hazard for a fee of about £20m from Lille.

Good with both feet, skillful, creative. I'd take him. Still only 19 so he's got time on his side to adapt, just like Nani and Ando. He is a bit small though.

I'm pretty sure that Hazard has stated that his prefered options would be either Arsenal or Real Madrid! I can understand the Arsenal link, they have a great track record with youngsters, as do we, but Real Madrid! Waste of time going there!

He is the best winger we could realistically sign. Obviously Bale would be brilliant but I don't think we would be able to afford him and I can't see him leaving Spurs for another few years yet.
I'd go for either Hazard or Marko Marin, both have massive potential.

Marin too light weight for the Prem?

I'd say it would take him time to adjust, like Evra, but I think he has the skill and football brain to deal with the physical side of the prem.

i think the physique is the main reason Tosic and now Eikrem didn't get a chance to play. so the player would have to be exceptional to succeed. haven't seen enough of Marin to comment on how good he is.

Agree that physique was the main reson for Tosic and Eikrem not making it but there are a lot of good modern day wingers like Lennon, Walcott and Ashley Young who are just as light weight as Marin.
Of all the wingers we have been linked to, only Alexis Sanchez would be ready for the physical side of the prem. Thing is with Sanchez though is that he plays on the right and we don't need another right winger. If we are to get a winger he would have to be left footed (Bale, Coentrao, etc..) or a left sided player (Hazard, Marin..)

Either way if Cleverley comes back I doubt a winger will be signed...

not many left footed wingers around actually! Makes Robbie Brady a good bet to get a chance soon? i think by next season he'd have made his debut if he isn't loaned out or can manage to stay injury free

Yeah I really hope Brady gets a chance soon because I feel he would make a big impact. His problem though, along with a lot of United's most talented youngsters, is that he hasn't had any luck with injuries.
It's such a shame because I know what a class act he is. If he stays injury free for the rest of the season, then he might see some action in the pre-season and hopefully then he will get a run in the first team next season.... Himself and Morrison have been training with the first team a fair bit so I think it's only a matter of time for the two of them.

yeah, We might see them on the bench for the FA cup game? we'll be short of wingers and i think Fergie might give them a chance on the bench, at least one of them?

Yeah hopefully. Because we are playing Liverpool Fergie might stick with his strongest team, but if we get into the next round and draw a weaker team then there's a good chance

I like Brady. Hope we get through 3rd round and draw one of the easy teams that Chelsea always get in the FA Cup. Stick a few young uns on the bench. Have to get through 3rd round first though and despite Liverpool's form it's not going to be as easy as some are making it out to be, it's a one off. We do however tend to play better in the FA Cup vs Prem teams than the sides in the lower leagues.

i don't think Liverpool will be taking the FA cup too seriously, i'm sure the likes of Shelvey, etc will play. Liverpool are in a battle to get into the Europa league places right now.

Liverpool will definately take it seriously, this round anyway, it's not like they are playing Woking.

Liverpool fans seem to have surrendered the game anyway, shall be interesting to see how many turn up. I agree with Sid, I can't see them naming a strong side but then a win would give them confidence, but a loss with their strongest side would just make them lose any bit of confidence they have. I think they'll mix it up.

Eden Hazard ready to quit Lille | The Sun |Sport|Football

EDEN HAZARD has alerted the Premier League's top clubs by revealing he will move abroad at the end of the season.

The Lille midfielder, 20, is one of the most talented young players in Europe.

He has been tracked by Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs in recent years.

And despite being under contract until 2015, the Belgian is ready to move on.

Hazard said: "I feel ready to make it to the next level at a big club.

"I stayed in Lille this season because there were still things I had to work on, things to prove. But now, I'm ready."

Hazard has been linked with a move to Lille's big-spending French rivals Paris St Germain.

But he added: "Paris is not for now. Paris is magical, as they say. Of course it attracts me, but for now, no.

"In France I do not want to build a rival club to Lille. After France, I want to go abroad."

Would love to sign him but still not sure it's a possibility. He's much more likely to go Madrid or Barca and I still don't know where he's fit in our midfield? On the wing? Probably not. Centre mid? Love it if he did but doubt it. Our midfield is easy to pick and doesn't look like it's going to change.
