Expecting a tough game. Several of our players look shattered after Saturday's game. This was to be expected though - playing two games in difficult conditions in the space of 3 days was going to take its toll - it was noticeable our second half performance dropped off against WBA.

Tough ask on Carrick, he especially looked dead on his feet, but I think he'll have to start. Van Persie and Chicharito to replace Kagawa and Welbeck respectively. Defence the same, unless Rafael or Jones are available.

Think there might be 2 or 3 changes in defence. Can't see Vidic playing, Evans may need a rest too. Rafael and Rio in. Might go with 3 in midfield to match them in there after we lost at Wigan last season.

Fair point about Vidic. He and Ferdinand can be rotated until Vidic is ready.

Team: de Gea; Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra; Young, Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs; van Persie, Chicharito

No rest for Carrick. I really hope we score a few early goals so that we can sub Carrick during match in readiness for Saturday.

Good to see Rafael back. All the defenders are coming back now so hopefully that will help the stability at the back.

Correct decision from the assistant. Good finish nonetheless.

Was that a penalty on the foul on Young?

Definite foul on Young. Debatable whether inside or outside the penalty area.

God performance from our lads. Wigan are so poor though.

Good opportunity to boost our goal difference here, think there's more goals left in us.

Great finish. Looks a good combination, like the look of van Persie as a number 10.

Nearly a great goal from van Persie. Smalling and Kagawa set to come on.
