Step up again Nani. Wasn't even good the other night, but he hadn't trained at all prior to arriving in Amsterdam. 90 minutes will have done him the world of good. He did improve as the game went on, but we will need much better while Valencia is out and for the rest of the season.
Welcome back Antonio Valencia indeed! A goal and two assists, not a bad afternoon's work.
If we do sign a winger in the summer they will be doing well to displace Valencia from the team. He's direct, possess pace, intelligent and a key member of the team. In another thread I said Nani was our second most important attacking player but I'm having second thoughts.

Ran the show. Not sure how he wasn't man of the match, thought he was by far. Hard to believe he was out for a month with a hamstring injury before today.
Valencia is a force of nature and in this form is unplayable. He doesn't have bags of skill, but he makes up for it with his pace and power. He's also shown bravery for returning to the level of performances after that horrific injury. He is the BEAST from Ecuador!!
Literally unplayable at the minute. I'd imagine he's a nightmare to play against because he tracks back really well also. Him and Rafael looks a really really good combo down the right.
Absolutely love Antonio, his work ethic is fantastic and the difference he makes to the squad is phenomenal. I think its due to a lot of what he has done we are top of the league.
Fergie on reported Valencia ankle op in summer: "I don't know where that story has come from - it's never been on the agenda or discussed. He has a plate in there and at the moment it stays there. His form has been unbelievable. When you get players hitting form, their best form, at this time of season, it's a bonus."
