Took his goal really well yesterday. Very composed finish. All over the pitch.

Cleverley is coming on nicely. Still a long way to go for him but I like his energy, attitude (seems well grounded), he doesn't get bullied in games (plays against all the top teams), supplies good cross and can finish. He has a great chance to establish himself in the team especially linking up well with Carrick. Love his energy, he gets the attacks going, box to box player.

Did well in his 45 mins. Hopefully Fergie instructed Hodgson to take him off at HT and it wasn't an injury.

Very busy again, made a great tackle after Ronaldinho's missed penalty. Himself and Wilshere look a promising combination.

If he wasn't there Neymar would have scored. Cleverley basically put him off.

Fergie clearly has a lot of trust in Young Tom. Very surpising to see Carrick rested today, thought it'd be Cleverley who'd be rested. But Clev was brilliant. Hopefully he can play in Madrid too. It'll be a push as he's not done 2 games in a week much this season. At the moment it looks like Carrick and Jones.

Really like Cleverley. Good game, especially in the second half once Carrick had been introduced. Has to start v Madrid.

Didn't get too much praise on Sunday, largely because the defence and Phil Jones were so good but I thought he had an excellent game. He and Jones were the energy buzzing around Carrick and they shone both in defence and Cleverley aslo in attack and with the ball too. Another underrated player improving every time I see him

Cleverley has been a revelation really. Excellent tonight, so much energy. It's clear that he's becoming more comfortable to being a first teamer trying more through balls and taking on more shots whereas at the start of the season he was keeping things relatively simple. Hope he plays in the second leg against Madrid.

He was okay, nothing spectacular. He has been a little overrated at times this season.

Why do you think he's been overrated, se7en?

He's had a few average performances that have been lauded as fantastic and many times he has faded in the 2nd half. Most of the time he has been very good though, who would of thought being able to pass and move would be so beneficial eh?

Worst performance of the season. He looked tired to me.

Still, he has enjoyed a very good first full season. Expect him to kick on next season. A proper pre-season will also help.

Showed why he rarely plays 90 mins and rarely plays 2 games a week.

Participation at the Olympics is probably a factor. Young midfielder with past injury issues are probably other factors as well.

Not really affected Rafael though, the olympics, had the opposite effect. Of course different players react differently though.

Really baffled by why he didn't start or at least make an appearance off the bench tonight. He's got the better of City's midfield before on a couple of occasions and been brilliant with Carrick this season. Giggs has been great in the 2nd half of this season, mainly on the wing though, madness to play him in the centre in such a big game, a good job we're still 12 points ahead.

I can understand to a point why Cleverley didn't start. He has looked tired and off the boil for the last 4-6 weeks. Not sure why he didn't make an appearance from the bench though. The Cleverley from earlier in the season was definitely missed, especially his ability to retain possession. Keeping things simple can be an underrated quality.
