4-0 win for the U16s. Don't think U16s games are allowed to be filmed, requires parental consent etc.

I think its to protect the players from getting hyped too early in their career and adding unnecessary pressure on them

Mats Moeller Daehli is in the U/18 squad for tomorrows Academy match versus Newcastle United. 12:30 ko
Should be an interesting watch, what with so many internationals away seemingly... looking forward to adding his name to the stats... hopefully. Hopefully a few more U16s are involved too.

Ole says he's one of the best talents in Europe, not just Norway.

He's really impressive to watch, looking forward to watching him develop.
Jason answered questions on Daehli for Norwegian online newspaper Nettavisen. Link to published article: http://www.nettavisen.no/sport/fotba...cle3325616.ece

Daehli was impressive again the other night. First assist of the season is hard to believe though. End product is something he needs to improve on, going to be very dangerous in the next few years, if the U18s don't win it this year, i'd have them odds on to win next year with everyone a year older.
He's got a nice technique and good awareness and composure, I expect him to come on a lot when he grows physically considering he isn't 17 till March. As you said the under 18's have been very impressive this season considering the majority of the team are 1st year scholars.
Yeah I'd go along with what's been said. Daehli really impresses me every time I see him. He's certainly the best prospect out of the current crop in my eyes - softens the blow of losing Morrison a bit knowing Daehli is coming through.
I like Januzaj more at the moment. I don't think there's much between them though.
The accademy are doing much better than i expected. Janucaz looks every inch a footballer. And tho it was only a late cameo against a beaten team Harrop looked to have loads of skill.
Januzaj has impressed aswell but he frustrates at times. He drifts out of games for long periods, whenever I've watched anyway, whereas Daehli is always looking to make things happen and looking for the ball. Both excellent prospects and seem like hard working, determined individuals also so they have a good chance.
I heard that Harrop only turned 16 in December, don't know if it's correct.
I believe that is true, only with the U18s because of injuries really. I've not seen a lot of him.
This kid is incredible. Only 16!! Crazy. Just needs end product now.
Just thought i'd bump this thread with Mats recently signing pro for United. A lot of teams have shown interest in him and some of the comparisons being made are mental (xavi?!).
Apparently the other two Norwegian lads are unlikely to make it to the first team but a lot is still being said about this fella so hoping he might even get some pre-season action.
With he Euros and the Olympics it's a possability some of the reserve players will go on the pre-season tour, I don't know about the U18s though.
Daehli does look like he's been schooled at Barcelona.
Doubtful he'd go with the first team on tour, there are other midfielders ahead of him, likes of Cole, Lingard, Tunnicliffe, maybe Pogba if his contract situation is sorted, Petrucci. And then then there's still others who won't go to Euros... Park, Anderson, Fletcher, Giggs, Cleverley (?), Carrick(?), even Scholes if he stays on.
In the reserve squad tonight, hopefully gets on so we can see how he copes with the step up.

The agent of Mats Daehli has confirmed the Norwegian teenager has signed professional forms with Manchester United.
The 17-year-old has impressed the coaches at Carrington enough to be rewarded with a new deal with the champions.
"He signed the contract on his birthday today," his agent Jim Solbakken confirmed to VG.
"He said it felt terrific and there are no doubts he deserved it."
Good news. Following Morrison's and Pogba's likely departure let's hope the expectation and hype surrounding our younger players like Daehli is not too great.
