his trnsfer hasn't been confirmed by Fifa yet i think, something similar to the Fornasier, masacci and Pogba deals, will have to wait a while..

    Re: Gyliano van Velzen

Kenji Gorre very highly rated guy, Chelski tried to steal him from us last year!! but he stayed, supposed to be very talented, already made a few appearances for the U-18's i think, along with Barmby and Pearson, they are the best attacking talents coming through the academy in the next 2 years

Van Velzen played for the U18s tonight behind closed doors against Preston apparently.

thought he played well against Sheffield United. Lacks the final ball but he's been getting better every game. People have no patience, everyone can't be like Pogba and start off with a bang.

Only natural winger we've got at U18 level really at the moment. Cole does a brilliant job but he's seen as more of a CM.

The wing seems his best position to utilize his pace

Cole might be best playing behind the striker, his mobility and ability to get past players would be of great use.

great technical ability, his crossing is great, he's not a case of "he's quick, stick him on the wing" he is very good at crossing too. Wing might be his best option too due to his size.

i agree, Cole will mostly end up a winger, a CM he wont be for sure, only other position for him is the role Rooney plays in now, a Trequartista!

After Van Velzen's two goals last night it's a good time to talk about him. What do you guys think about him? He's not kicked on as I hoped from when the season started. I'm not dismissing his potential but would have liked him to have had a greater influence in games. He's been overshadowed by some of his team mates.

Heard a lot about him last season, wasn't overly impressed decent enough maybe because he was younger than Pogba etc. This season he has kicked on quite well i think puts in some very good performances, i've been impressed by him anyway.

Last night was his best game in a United shirt. He's not had it easy in my opinion, he's had to play upfront quite a bit because of the lack of strikers. Best game came last night when there was a Striker present and he was played in his correct position.

    That's a fair enough summary.

After a slow start to season Van Velzen has shown signs of progress since the Swansea game. I like him and hope he can continue to develop.

I think he has progressed from further back than the Swansea game
