    It was also mentioned on Sky Sports so there could be some substance to it, but as you say caughtoffside have latched on to it so probably not true at all!

    Same old same old. He looked half decent in a game or two ... MUFC must be trying to sign him. A'la Alan Dzagoev, Milos Krasic and so on and so forth.

    Yeah pretty cheap from what I've heard as well, £8.5million. Worried that we didn't go in for him, hopefully we have someone else lined up for the summer.....

    Aye a decent chance of that, his contract expires at the end of next season and he's constantly injured, only played 69 games in 3 seasons there.....

    Is Shaqiri an out and out winger? If he is, then he would have been an unnecessary signing.

    With Nani, Valencia and Young I think Shaqiri would have been an unnecessary addition to the squad. We can't sign all the highly rated young players.

    I wouldn't say he's an out and out winger although I've only seen him play maybe 5 times. He can stay out wide but he tends to drift infield looking for space similar to how Messi played in his early years. Your right though he probably would have been an unnecessary signing.
