Sometimes you can only take certain clubs to a certain level. McCarthy took them as high as he could have. Sacking him at this stage of the season is daft, especially given they're in a relegation dogfight. Very difficult for Wolves now unless the new manager makes a turnaround like O'Neill did. But probably the only good thing about this sacking is that the new manager whoever is appointed will get 2 weeks to analyze and get his tactics into training before their next PL game. Other than that I can't see much. If he was sacked because of yesterday's result, then it's as pathetic as it gets. In that case Fergie, Wenger, AVB etc all should've been sacked.....But I was kinda hoping he'd stay till we play them next month though as they were looking very vulnerable and were there for the taking.
Yeah timing is strange. Can't see anyone who would do a better job with that group of players...... Any early contenders ? Steve Bruce is out of a job so could be interested in a return to the midlands, nobody else really springs to mind
