    Loic Remy

Newcastle have agreed a fee of £8m with Lyon for Remy.

I've seen very little of him.

I listened to The Guardian's podcast from December earlier today. Philippe Auclair was on the panel and stated that Remy is very short on confidence.

Is he a good signing? Is he capable of succeeding Ba and score the goals to stave off a relegation battle?

I would guess Cisse will play down the centre now and take on the goalscoring mantle while Remy will be used on the left wing. Remy has never been particularly prolific in France so doubt he will be here.

Surprised anyone even noticed his tweet about Remy considering what followed with Hamann, think The Guardian had reported it before Joey Barton or Sky Sports so there must be some truth to it.

Remy had a medical at QPR today. Even though I've only seen bits of Remy I know he will be an improvement on Cisse.

I've been very impressed with Remy whenever I've seen him. It's been a while since I have mind but he's a different kind of player, very effective playing on the right of a front three, he would have been a great signing for Newcastle with Cisse through the middle and Ben Arfa supporting but I'm sure QPR bought him in view to playing through the middle. They have an exceptionally poor selection of forwards considering how much they've spent on the area even stretching back to when Warnock was in charge. If he keeps fit he should be a big success.

I like the look of him as well but it seems like he lost form a bit last season which is why the bigger clubs went a bit cool on him.

If QPR get him playing again though he could be the sort of inspiration they need as they're desperately short of goals in that team last few weeks they've been playing Taraabt up top on his own.

Would be surprised if there isn't some sort of get clause if QPR get relegated similar to the one Ba had at West Ham although it would probably be a nominal fee rather than a free transfer. I doubt he'd of gone if they wanted to put a wage cut clause in his contract because if reports are to believed the last batch of players they signed didn't get these clauses.
