How many on here would take Cole on a free? (Ferdinand is obviously a factor)
No he'll be 32 we've got to start looking more long term as a replacement for Evra.
He's been an awesome player over his career though but I want to see Utd look for a bit more long term solutions
That would depend on us getting a long term replacement. If Buttner can do the job or we get somebody who can then obviously you do not need Cole, but if not then Cole would be a good player for a season or two while we find somebody.
Hate the prick but think it would be a good short term solution. Can't see it happening mind, Evra would probably have to leave first and if he's stalling on a Chelsea contract it must be something to do with wages and it's unlikely we'll offer more. There's the Ferdinand issue as well.

A day later and the Mail change their mind. Don't think there's a whole lot to this story.
There's been a rumour about us going for Ashley Cole, he's apparently not signed a new contract and he can sign a pre-contract agreement elsewhere in January supposedly.
A lot of United blogs, forums etc are dismissing this. Oh, and he's a ****.!!
Personally i think there's no chance of this happening, but then again i never thought we'd bring in Van Persie!!
Ashley Cole, you're a w*nk*r, you're a w*nk*r
Ashley Cole, you're a w*nk*r, you're a w*nk*r
Having said that, I would take him on for a season or two. It would depend on his fee and wages though.
Can't see it happening at the moment, his wages would be very high and Evras form has improved a lot in the last month or so.
Rafa has said that Cole is likely to leave at the end of the season.
PSG's Official deleted tweet: "English left back Ashley Cole will become a Red and Blue player this summer" Top Tweet.
Cole has officially signed a one year extension. He's rumoured to be on a 200k per week contract.
Mad if true.
