The Manchester City striker, 29, is again the subject of intense speculation about his future and a move to France this summer is being widely tipped.

Asked by French television station Telefoot about the prospect of joining newly promoted Monaco, he confirmed he would be open to the idea.

"For me, Monaco is one of the largest French clubs, and any player would go there," he said.

"I have a one-year contract left at City and I am happy, and I love playing in the Premier League - but a project like Monaco I really like.

"I know [Claudio] Ranieri [Monaco coach] and he has proven he is a great coach so for me this would be great."

Likewise, he admits that PSG would equally be as desirable - a club he almost joined last season when he was in dispute with City.

"There was interest from PSG for me, and we talked with Leonardo, but we could not reach an agreement," he said.

"But it remains an interesting option as the French championship is moving very fast. If Leonardo called me, it's not a problem for me to come, really no problem to come to Paris and France."

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has hinted that he would like to follow David Moyes to Manchester United.

The Belgian international has long been linked with a move away from Goodison Park, and after a deal in January failed to materialise, he again looks set for a summer of speculation about his future.

Chelsea and Arsenal had been linked, but now he has one eye on Old Trafford due to the fact Moyes is taking charge.

"If I'm leaving Everton, I say if, it will depend on lots of factors," Fellaini told the Sunday Mirror.

"I only want to go to a club where the manager really wants me.

"In 2008, Everton did everything to convince me, especially David Moyes. He made me the player I am now."

Fellaini also revealed that Moyes had told him that he wanted him to become a deep-lying midfielder - rather than the forward he has emerged as in recent years.

"I'm happy with my season, although I didn't play in my best position," said Fellaini.

"I'm not a number 10. David Moyes predicts my future as a defensive midfielder, but due to a lack of offensive power, he plays me up front.

"In the future I want to play as a six or an eight. From there, I can create danger and score goals."

Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced that Manchester United can still continue winning trophies and titles in his absence.

The manager steps down after more than 26 years in charge following Sunday's final Barclays Premier League match of the season at West Brom with David Moyes moving from Everton to take over the reins.

There is every likelihood that many outside of Old Trafford will be hoping the Reds suffer a fall from grace similar to the one that followed Sir Matt Busby's initial retirement in 1969.

However, when asked if cracks will start to appear in the empire, Sir Alex replied: "No. I think if you go back to Busby's day, Sir Matt was probably in the same situation as I find myself today. But he created Manchester United.

"That was the origins of what we are today. He had the vision to take the club into Europe and rebuilt a team in 10 years based mainly around young players to win the European Cup.

"I'm in the same situation as him - the past is the past and will always be there. It’s a good record and the future now lies with a new manager who will get all the support from us and hopefully we’ll continue to be successful. It’s not the end of Manchester United as far as winning titles is concerned. The club will win titles and win trophies."

Sir Alex, of course, is being retained on the board and will also become an ambassador of the club with everybody associated with United hoping he is still a regular visitor to Old Trafford and Carrington.

"The ambassadorial role is 20 days a year so it’s fine," he revealed. "No problem.

"It will be defined by the club. There are a lot of sponsors and a lot of important people in the club. That will be my role.

"Whatever they want me to do in those 20 days will be fine.

"I’ll just do what I’m going to do in the next stage of my life. If I’d waited another year, two years or three years, I’ve still got to deal with what I’m going to do – I’ll remain active. I have to do something and I’ll be doing plenty of things."

Rio Ferdinand is set to sign a one-year contract extension with Manchester United by Monday.
Talks between Ferdinand's representatives and United began on Friday and the 12-month deal is expected to be confirmed within the next 48 hours.
Ferdinand, 34, is out of contract at the end of this season but has expressed his desire to stay on and play under Sir Alex Ferguson's successor, David Moyes.
Although Ferdinand is likely to have to take a pay cut on his £120,000-a-week salary, the defender is keen to give United one more season.
Ferdinand retired from international football earlier this week and said he had done so because he "owed it to Manchester United" after so many years.
The former England international has had several offers to play abroad, in Europe, America and the Middle East, but wants to continue his career at Old Trafford.
VICENTE has blasted suspended Albion boss Gus Poyet as “the worst person I’ve come across in football”. The departing Spanish star has branded Poyet “selfish” and “egocentric”. And he has accused the Uruguayan of mocking his players in training.

Vicente was released by Albion on Thursday after 18 starts in two injury-hit seasons with the Seagulls.
The 31-year-old former Valencia playmaker claims Poyet was ready to let him return to Spain last summer, because his four-year-old daughter Blanca was struggling to settle in England, but then did a U-turn.

Vicente, who played in the Champions League and La Liga for Valencia and was capped 38 times by Spain, told The Argus: “He is the worst person I’ve come across in football. “For example, he deceived me when he said I could go and then he didn’t let me. I was four months out injured and he wasn’t capable of coming up and asking how I was.

“For me he is a selfish person, very egocentric. I say that because it’s how I feel.
“I won’t talk badly about my team-mates, because they have been fantastic with me. What I think is unacceptable is that the manager makes fun of his players. I’ve seen things here that I have never seen in my career. If you miss with a shot in training, he makes fun. For me, that is unacceptable in football.”

Poyet, his assistant Mauricio Taricco and coach Charlie Oatway, have been suspended by Albion pending an internal investigation into alleged breaches of contract.
Vicente and other players out-of-contract were spoken to by chairman Tony Bloom and head of football David Burke after Poyet refused to deal with the retained list.

David Beckham has been tipped for a return to MLS as owner of a new club, following talks between his advisors and league executives.
The former England captain announced his retirement on Thursday, 20 years after signing his first professional contract, and has been tight-lipped about his future plans.
And while Beckham's contract with MLS, signed when he joined the L.A. Galaxy in 2007, included an option to purchase an 'expansion franchise', it has been revealed his advisors have been in talks with the league about possible locations for a new team.
"There have been discussions with his advisors, his management, preliminary discussions," MLS executive vice-president of communications, Dan Courtemanche said.
"It is one of many markets that has been mentioned, so have other markets."
MLS hopes to add a 20th club in New York City, with Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour reported as the likely buyer.
And Beckham's option, which would allow him to create a new franchise for a fee understood to be $25 million, rules out this location.
When the contractual opportunity to own an MLS team was first disclosed, in 2009, Beckham said: "It will happen eventually." And last year he stated: "I have the option of owning a franchise, and that excites me."
While MLS is currently focused on completing the deal for the New York City franchise, the talks with Beckham's faction are expected to continue.
"At some point in time he will exercise that option and we can go through the process of making sure it is the perfect fit for David and Major League Soccer but we are not there yet," said Courtemanche.
Chris Smalling and Nick Powell have both undergone operations but are expected to return for pre-season training with Manchester United.

Reds defender Smalling was on crutches during the lifting of the Barclays Premier League trophy after the win against Swansea while Powell has been missing from action at both senior and Under-21 level, despite Warren Joyce's side progressing to Monday's league final against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

"They are not long-term injuries," Sir Alex informed MUTV. "They will be ready for pre-season and that's the important thing. It's why we do these things.

"Chris had problems with his foot and had an operation on it. It'll be resolved and he'll be back for pre-season.

"Young Nick had a small operation to relieve a problem he had and he'll also be available for pre-season training. I knew I was not going to use them for the last part of the season, having won the league, so I think it was important to get the operations done."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the Premier League club are in 'advanced' talks over Auxerre starlet Yaya Sanogo.
The highly-rated striker, 20, has scored nine goals in just 11 league appearances for the Ligue 2 outfit.
He current deal expires this summer and reports in France have claimed that he has shunned offers from a host of clubs in his homeland by agreeing a four-year deal with the Gunners.
However, Wenger has insisted a deal is not yet concluded for the France Under-21 international, but admitted it was close.
"It is in the advanced stages but it is not done," he said, when asked about Sanogo.
If, as expected, Arsenal conclude a deal then they would be due to pay Auxerre compensation as Sanogo is under 23.
Uruguay youth international Guillermo Varela has admitted he has enjoyed his trial spell with Manchester United.
The 20-year-old Penarol full-back joined the Red Devils earlier this month to spend a few weeks training with the Premier League champions.
"I have trained with the first-team," Varela, who departed England late last week, told Tirando Paredes.
"I am very happy and I was received very well.
"It was a surprise to get the chance to test with Manchester United. I'm glad and happy, and grateful to Penarol who allowed me to travel.
"I was treated so well and Cicharito [Javier Hernandez] helped me a lot. The work outs were short but very demanding."
