On July 28, Manchester United faced an unbeaten (against English opposition) MLS All Stars team at the Reliant Stadium in Houston. After the surprise loss to Kansas City Wizards and much doom & gloom, the game against the All Stars was the perfect opportunity for the youngsters to shine. Shine they did, with Man United running out comfortable winners with goals coming from Federico Macheda (age 18), Tom Cleverley (20), Darron Gibson (22) and Javier Hernandez (22).
